![]() ![]() Perhaps the idea is that other counties might strike with the US in disarray, but again, nuking random mountains in Montana does not seem like it would cripple the US as a whole. While three nukes going off in a remote town in Montana would obviously be a huge deal, would it actually lead to the collapse of society overall? Joseph seems to think so, but past the three local bombs, I didn’t see any evidence that this was some sort of nationwide occurrence.Joseph did detonate all these himself, right? In the car ride you have Pratt screaming “He was right!” over and over again, but obviously he would be “right” if this was his plan all along, correct? I think Pratt’s just insane at this point after being tortured by Jacob.Joseph talks about how this is the end of days and how everything has collapsed now, and all of this leads me to a few confusing questions about what exactly happened here. In the end, you crash, and wake up handcuffed with only Seed in the bunker, the implication being that the two of you are the only survivors and have to live there until the fallout clears. As you drive, I believe you see at least two more detonations, which would line up with the other two bunkers. The final sequence has you racing the firestorm to try to get to a bunker of your own with the deputies and Joseph (presumably all the friends you just saved are cooked?). I had a hunch that Joseph had taken these bombs and was planning his own end of days, but I figured the final mission would be stopping him from detonating the devices, not him literally blowing up the area where there’s nothing at all you can do about it. As you kill all three siblings, you also have to blow up their bunkers, bunkers that contain empty missile silos. This is the aspect of the finale I have to admit I saw coming. As you try to take Joseph into custody, an explosion detonates in the distance, and as the mushroom cloud forms, you can see just what kind of explosion it is. But then you learn what this mission is really leading to.Īfter preaching about the collapse of America in fire and brimstone all game, we see actual fire and brimstone. It’s a really bizarre shootout as you have to revive every enemy you down, and not particularly challenging considering that by the end you have an army 12 deep taking on Joseph himself. But never fear, apparently the cure for Bliss is bullets, so you shoot your friends, then revive them, until you have yourself quite a posse. If you do, Joseph splashes you with a bunch of Bliss, and you have to fight not only a teleporting version of him in the compound, but also your old friends, corrupted by the drug. Naturally, the “correct” choice would seem to be to resist. There are genuinely two different finales based on what you pick, but I’ll get into the other one later. This isn’t one of those faux-choices where both will lead you to the same ending. Then, Joseph gives you the same choice he did in the intro, you can take your friends and walk away, or you can stay and challenge him. Not only has he somehow recaptured all three of your sheriff’s deputy buddies that you just spend eons trying to free, but he’s also corrupted every single important NPC you’ve met with Bliss, including the ones that accompany you as companions (minus the animals). That is all that you need to know about beating the final boss in Daemon X Machina, The Dominator. If you find yourself low on VP, hide behind the pillar or try dashing away to another part of the stage and heal using the Outer. You would do well to avoid them, as they take a huge chunk out of your health. Towards the end of the fight, the Dominator shoots out two massive melting rays. One of the best times is right after he does his twirling attack. ALWAYS, ALWAYS be on the move when necessary and pick up canisters. If you don’t escape, he will steal one of your weapons. The Dominator has a special gravity weapon that can suck you in. These are going to be your keys to victory. There are also numerous canisters that can be picked up and thrown. After he twirls, you can go in for a melee attack, like a sword. This pillar is your guardian angel when it comes to avoiding the Dominator’s melting ray.Īt the start of the battle, shoot the Dominator with a strong weapon from behind the pillar. As soon as you enter the boss fight, descend as quickly as you can to the center and stay behind the pillar. ![]()
